On the weekend of June 28th/29th, Lucas was able to take part in the Victorian Junior Chess Championships here in Melbourne. He was of course VERY excited and even more after he won the first game. At the end of the tournament, he had managed to win 4 out of 7 games and finished 12th in his age group (under 10), out of 25 kids. He was quite happy, although he had hoped to get into the first 10. This tournament gave him a real boost and he wouldn't give his chess computer a break during the whole two week of vacation that followed.
Lucas hatte sich für die Victorian Junioren Schachmeisterschaften vom Wochenende 28./29. Juni angemeldet. Er war natürlich SEHR aufgeregt und noch viel mehr, nachdem er die erste Partie gewonnen hatte. Am Ende des Turniers hatte er 4 von 7 Spielen gewonnen und war 12.er in seiner Kategorie (unter 10) von 25 Kindern. Er war ziemlich zufrieden, obwohl er auf einen Platz unter den ersten zehn gehofft hatte. Dieses Turnier gab ihm den richtigen Kick und sein Schachcomputer lief in den nachfolgenden Ferien auf Hochtouren.
